With DataTables you can alter the ordering characteristics of the table at initialisation time. Using the order initialisation parameter, you can set the
table to display the data in exactly the order that you want.
The order parameter is an array of
arrays where the first value of the inner array is the column to order on, and the second is 'asc' (ascending ordering)
or 'desc' (descending ordering) as required. order is a 2D array to allow multi-column ordering to be defined.
The table below is ordered (descending) by the Age column.

This table loads data by Ajax. The latest data that has been loaded is shown below. This data will update automatically as any additional data is loaded.
The script used to perform the server-side processing for this table is shown below. Please note that this is just an example script using PHP. Server-side processing scripts can be written in any language, using the protocol described in the DataTables documentation.
